I think if I blog every day this week month, I just might get caught up on documenting life before everything fades into the abyss that tends to be my memory. But that is overwhelming so I will just start with blogging today.
Back to the sweetest wedding ever. The day Lorie and Justin and Kiah became an official family was more precious than you can imagine. Kiah holds a Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09798025598607753140noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3335644898084413859.post-37614694401193927942010-12-11T14:34:00.000-05:002010-12-11T14:34:21.093-05:00
Since the salon where Lorie works was closed for Sunday, we had the place all to ourselves to get ready. now THAT was cool.
We made a great team with those Cole sisters and busted out some serious hair make up and nails that day!
Biggest wedding foul ever- asking the bride to please trim your son's unruly hair 3 hours before the ceremony.
Daddy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09798025598607753140noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3335644898084413859.post-51590386886435504842010-12-11T12:48:00.002-05:002010-12-11T14:41:54.207-05:00Rehearsal Dinner Lorie decided to have a costume party for the rehearsal dinner considering it was close to Halloween and the fact that costumes are incredibly AWESOME. Let me tell you, it was a great idea! It was hilarious.......and fun........and how could anyone be anything but laid back and happy if the Easter Bunny is walking a cute 40's sailor girl down the aisle to wed a gorilla? Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09798025598607753140noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3335644898084413859.post-78782267880715675792010-11-15T13:47:00.001-05:002010-11-15T14:10:33.755-05:00Moving right along through October festivities brings us to a highlight of my year, well, heck, a highlight of my entire life............. the wedding. Lorie, Justin and Kiah became an official family on October 24th and it was the sweetest thing you could imagine. The weather was about 20 degrees higher than the average in Boone in October making it a gorgeous fall day.
But wait, I Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09798025598607753140noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3335644898084413859.post-38937768127791644912010-11-10T13:07:00.001-05:002010-11-10T13:08:49.073-05:00The next noteworthy happening in October was our Cheshire Music Gig. After class one day, a lady told me how much she enjoyed the last time we played there and then asked when we were doing it again. I really start thinking and figuring on how we could make it happen this fall before the weather turned too cold. The biggest obstacle was the sound system. We borrowed a Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09798025598607753140noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3335644898084413859.post-13715797063825623232010-11-08T09:11:00.002-05:002010-11-08T10:42:57.764-05:00
You know how it goes....the more you have to blog about, the less time you have to blog. So October has come and gone and I have yet to record all of the happenings for the Harrisons. Then the question is "where do I start?". They used to say in the scrapbookers world to start with RIGHT NOW as to not get to overwhelmed, but I don't guess I am that far behind so I will start atJuliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09798025598607753140noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3335644898084413859.post-34588058786156401572010-10-06T08:05:00.001-04:002010-10-06T08:07:23.937-04:00Annabelle's Dance ClassAre you ready for some cuteness?
Annabelle has started taking dance from Ms. Kim on Thursdays. She LOVES it and it is the sweetest, cutest thing you could ever imagine. Annalee and Lucie are in her class so Amie, Lauren and I get to hang out and watch while they dance.
The grandparents paid for the dance class as Annabelle's birthday present so a HUGE thank Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09798025598607753140noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3335644898084413859.post-25625045346107024222010-09-14T13:16:00.004-04:002010-09-14T13:41:48.228-04:00September means it is time to go back to Dollywood. We take the summer off to avoid the heat and crowds but as soon as all those kiddos go back to school, we head back over the smokey mountains for some fun. Last week, we took a quick day trip with my friend, Lauren, and her two kids, Samuel and Annalee. We practically had the park to ourselves and the weather was perfect.
Also, Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09798025598607753140noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3335644898084413859.post-87828667213173690622010-08-25T13:32:00.006-04:002010-08-25T15:20:38.388-04:00Quick overview on life over the past few weeks:
Jonathan and I took the kids to an extended family reunion down near Maggie Valley a few weeks ago. After getting a late start and then getting a bit lost (gasp, can you imagine ME getting lost!?), we basically missed the reunion itself and arrived as everyone was packing up and heading out. However, it turned out to be an awesomeJuliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09798025598607753140noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3335644898084413859.post-92122875691991405292010-08-09T11:03:00.001-04:002010-08-10T08:31:14.731-04:00Can you believe it is August already?
Thanks to generous friends with boats to share, we've made a few trips to Lake James lately. Talk about fun times! One Saturday we went with the Rayments and The Kings and all piled into their boat to shuttle across the lake to a little beach where we played and swam all afternoon. That night we dropped our kiddos off with Moma and Daddy andJuliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09798025598607753140noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3335644898084413859.post-23910932495669389462010-07-19T14:52:00.006-04:002010-07-20T14:58:02.291-04:00I am relieved to say that Annabelle is done with her pacifiers! Yes, I am aware of the fact that 3 1/2 years old (okay, almost 4) is a ridiculous age to still have a pacie, however, the truth is I let her keep them that long so that you would feel better about how early you made your kids give them up. All three of my kids took them until they were almost four years old. Crazy, huh? How could I have a nine year old? I suppose everyone feels that way when their oldest child has a birthday. Caleb decided he would like to celebrate by hiking to a waterfall with friends and family. So yesterday afternoon we all met up and caravaned down to Old Fort to hike to CatawbaJuliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09798025598607753140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3335644898084413859.post-59976804701632126742010-07-09T19:28:00.006-04:002010-07-10T08:27:51.113-04:00If anyone asks what we have been doing this summer, I just say swimming. A friend called me up a few weeks ago and asked if I would be interested in picking up a couple of classes at another gym in town. I immediately declined and told her my schedule was full. She said, "Are you sure, because you would be able to use their outdoor pool?" to which I replied without Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09798025598607753140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3335644898084413859.post-12307170659503823642010-07-07T07:59:00.006-04:002010-07-14T11:34:20.942-04:00
We have been going strong for the last few days celebrating Independence Day weekend. FIVE cookouts, 2 sets of huge fireworks and 2 sets of small backyard fireworks, sack races and parades, plus some swimming made for a full weekend and exhausted kids.....and parents! Seriously, it was helpful to list all of those things because I was getting worried about how tired I felt teaching class on Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09798025598607753140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3335644898084413859.post-78287913186819887892010-06-28T19:57:00.007-04:002010-06-29T19:34:04.335-04:00SplashevilleSince I haven't ventured out in the world to live anywhere besides the Asheville area, I try to redeem my coolness by telling people what a great place it is to reside. Asheville is beautiful. It has a great live music scene. It is diverse and artsy. It has good weather. And now it even has a little water feature to play in called "Splasheville". We took advantage of the downtown scene Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09798025598607753140noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3335644898084413859.post-23906545530419673722010-06-24T13:21:00.009-04:002010-06-25T14:35:12.653-04:00This year taught me, once again, that I should lower my expectations for accomplishing things on beach trips like blogging, or running, or learning to play the banjo (all things I really considered putting on the "to do" list that week). For some reason, I think, vacation equals free time sooooo, what can I get done? But then there are the three children that keep me pretty busy not to Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09798025598607753140noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3335644898084413859.post-15873498272964022852010-06-17T15:57:00.004-04:002010-06-23T08:43:54.762-04:00More Beach PicturesThe first thing I thought when i saw this picture is "WHOA, the boys are getting so old and tall!" It seems like yesterday they were little toddlers kissing my pregnant belly with Annabelle inside in the picture on the beach. I think they will catch me in height within a couple of years. Can I just tell you what a sweetheart Lucie is? Aunt Leslie flew in from California for most of the week and Aunt Teresa came and stayed a couple of nights with us. Seth and Uncle Paul couldn't make it because they had to work and we missed them very much. This year we stayed in a house on the beach that had a POOL, a hot tub and a foosball table. wow. Warm weather, pool time, less laundry, trips to Dollywood, trips to the BEACH, hiking, waterfalls, outdoor music, creeks, festivals, and on and on.....I suppose we wouldn't appreciate the warm weather if we didn't have to bear the winter as well, although I am not too sure about all that. All I know is to have a nice mild summer climate, you inevitably have to go Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09798025598607753140noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3335644898084413859.post-60080133414986574862010-05-12T08:25:00.005-04:002010-05-12T13:17:08.946-04:00A Few ThingsThe kids love to go down to the creek that runs near Cheshire after class. I use it as a bribe once in a while when they are cranky and protest childcare. A couple of weeks ago, they collected about a hundred tadpoles from a mud hole/pond down there and we've been watching them morph into frogs since then. Adam is particularly fascinated with them and is constantly feeding and watching them. She was precious and completely cooperative to my surprise and delight. The rehearsal/out-of-towners dinner was at the Grove Park Inn and was without doubt the best food I have eaten in years. We were the only natives had a great time meeting folks from all over the country. Annabelle was a dream child and she and I Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09798025598607753140noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3335644898084413859.post-87978886584239787862010-04-19T12:31:00.007-04:002010-05-12T10:21:51.684-04:00It's Friday. I taught class at the gym, came home and straightened the house, mopped the floors, and cleaned the bathrooms. Then, I took a long shower wherein I shaved my legs, deep conditioned my hair and even applied a bit of self tanning lotion afterward. What in the world you may ask? How is this done with three kids in the house? Well, they are not here. Folks, I just sent them off Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09798025598607753140noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3335644898084413859.post-2855882231837867302010-04-08T19:02:00.014-04:002010-04-08T22:27:19.471-04:00MusicWe played some music at the Francis's house a couple of weekends back when they had some friends over to hang out. I snagged these pictures from face book because they are just so dang cool. Jessie always takes incredible pictures and writes one heck of a blog. Aren't they just the cutest things you've ever seen? Well, perhaps I am a little biased but they certainly looked nice that morning before church. It was such a treat to see Annabelle in a different dress from the two she wears EVERY day lately. I knew there would be a battle over the Easter dress so I planned accordingly and left enough time for the Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09798025598607753140noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3335644898084413859.post-8760319491916661002010-03-28T21:10:00.002-04:002010-04-02T13:56:27.899-04:00Annabelle has a few imaginary friends hanging about lately whose names are Kelly, Alice, Sarah, and most importantly, Ellis. She cracks me up daily with her conversations and descriptions of them. When one of my nieces was younger, she had an imaginary friend named Gally who was very misbehaved and always causing trouble.
